John Kokesh, M.D.

John Kokesh, MD is Medical Director of the Department of Otolaryngology at the Alaska Native Medical center where he has worked for the past 18 years. He received his M.D. degree, residency training, and head and neck oncology fellowship training at the University of Washington. He holds clinical faculty appointments at the University of Washington and the University of Chicago and is a fellow of the American Board of Otolaryngology. During his time in Alaska he has worked closely with the Alaska Federal Health Care Access Network (AFHCAN) telemedicine project to develop telehealth solutions for rural Alaska, especially as they pertain to the diagnosis and treatment of ear disease. As a result he has developed clinical applications, clinical outcomes research, education and business processes for store and forward telemedicine.
