Dangerous Decibels
The Dangerous Decibels Exhibit, which opened in June, 2002, is a collaborative project by the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI), the National Center for Rehabilitative Auditory Research, the Oregon Hearing Research Center, and the American Tinnitus Association. The interactive exhibit is designed to educate both children and adults, explaining the anatomy and physiology of the auditory system, how noise effects hearing, and strategies to protect against noise exposure. The exhibit is designed to increase public awareness of noise-induced hearing loss and will remain at OMSI until 2010. |
