Scholarships

Expanding our Horizons: Medical Conditions and Audiology 

The NCRAR is pleased to announce that it will award up to five scholarships to practicing audiologists and five more to students enrolled in an Au.D. or Ph.D. program to attend the conference.  One scholarship will be reserved for a minority individual.

Scholarships will provide up to $1000 in travel funds and conference registration.

Eligibility

Any practicing audiologist and any student currently enrolled in an Au.D. or Ph.D. program can apply for a scholarship. Priority will be given to full-time VA employees.

Application Requirements

  • Application for a clinical scholarship will require submission of a 1500-word case study, or an essay describing a particular clinical approach used, or medical condition encountered, that has relevance to the conference content.
  • Application for a student scholarship will require a 1500-word essay describing what the student expects to gain from attending the conference and why he/she should be selected.
  • Scholarship applicants are encouraged to submit a poster for presentation during the poster session.

Selection Criteria

  1. Five scholarships will only be awarded to practicing audiologists and five to students enrolled in an Au.D. or Ph.D. program.
  2. One scholarship will be awarded to a minority individual.
  3. VA employees will be given priority.
  4. The five-member conference program committee will be responsible for selecting the winners. Their decisions are final.

Complete applications must be received by July 15, 2011. Winners will be notified on or before August 1, 2011. At that time instructions about travel reimbursement will be provided.
