Tom Helfer, Ph.D.
Dr. Helfer is a Hearing Conservation Consultant for the US Army Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine. He works with Department of Defense Health Officers worldwide regarding hearing conservation programs and occupational hearing loss. He received his Ph.D. in communication disorders at the University of Texas at Dallas, a licensed audiologist and a Lieutenant Colonel (retired) in the U.S. Army Reserves. He serves on the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association's Advisory Committee on Evidence-Based Practice and is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and a course director for the Council on Accreditation of Occupational Hearing Conservationists (CAOHC).
