Dr. Trune has collaborated extensively with Dr. Hefeneider within the Portland VAMC concerning the identification of immune mechanisms underlying hearing loss. He will participate with Dr. Hefeneider in the investigation concerning the role of bacterial DNA in hearing disorders. Dr. Trune currently has federal research funding to investigate the immune mechanisms of autoimmune sensorineural hearing loss and 21 years of post-doctoral experience. Dr. Trune is also an authority on technology transfer and development and will provide advice to the Center on this area of priority.
