Dr. Lilly was a post-doctoral fellow at the Central Institute for the Deaf in St. Louis. He taught for sixteen years at the University of Iowa where he attained the rank of full professor. He then taught for three years at the University of Michigan before moving to Portland to develop an Audiology Program at Good Samaritan Hospital. Currently his research laboratories are located at the VAMC in Portland, OR and Vancouver, WA. He is a noted lecturer in the area of auditory rehabilitation as well as being involved in the development and evaluation of hearing tests and hearing instruments. Dr. Lilly is currently collaborating with Drs. Bourdette, Fausti, and Storzbach on the NCRAR project "Auditory Function in Patients With and Without Multiple Sclerosis."
